Anthony has a master's degree in teaching, an active Oregon teaching license, and a current State background clearance. His teaching endorsements are in Engineering Technology CTE (Career Technology Education) and Social Studies. He began working in public education after 25 years performing technical work for the Architectural, Engineering, and Construction industries.

Anthony previously volunteered as a Parks & Recreation Commissioner for the City of Bandon, and substantially helped create Friends of Bandon Parks and Recreation, a non-profit charity corporation. For the spring semester, he is an aide in the Title 1 Math classroom at Ocean Crest Elementary School in Bandon.
