Anthony has a master's degree in teaching, an active Oregon teaching license, and a current State background clearance. His teaching endorsements are in Engineering Technology CTE (Career Technology Education) and Social Studies. He began working in public education after 25 years performing technical work for the Architectural, Engineering, and Construction industries.

Anthony previously served as a volunteer Parks & Recreation Commissioner for the City of Bandon. He substantially helped create Friends of Bandon Parks and Recreation, a non-profit charity corporation, where he served as an interim volunteer board member. He currrently fills in as a substitute aide to the Title 1 and SpEd teachers at Ocean Crest Elementary School in Bandon .
